Porus Group welcomes the opportunity to review ideas, inventions or prototypes for products or services as potential brand licensees.

 

The following information sets out our general policies and procedures for considering submissions. Please read the following information carefully so that you understand the conditions under which we will review your submission. By submitting information to Porus Group, in consideration of Porus Group reviewing your submission, you acknowledge and agree that you have read and agree to be bound by these terms.

 

There is no confidentiality provision during this initial screening process due to the large number of submissions and the need to share this information with outside resources to better evaluate your business concept. Submissions should not disclose any proprietary or confidential information. Porus Group does not accept any obligation of confidentiality with regard to information submitted during the initial screening process. Such an obligation would prevent us from conducting effective due diligence on the idea. If, during these subsequent communications, both you and Porus Group agree that it is necessary to exchange confidential information, a Confidentiality Agreement will be prepared to enable us to begin exchanging such information.

 

The ideas or plans set forth in your concept/business summary should be your original ideas. Porus Group takes no responsibility for protecting your intellectual property rights.

 

You may have proprietary rights in your information, and should therefore consider protecting it (for example through patents or copyrights) before disclosing it to Porus Group. This is especially important because disclosing your information to us may affect your ability to obtain these rights. Please submit your information to us only after you have obtained the protection that you feel is satisfactory. Porus Group employees are not authorized to act in a consulting capacity or furnish an opinion or any advice regarding the appropriate protection for a submission. Any decision regarding these matters must be based solely on your judgment and the advice of your own lawyer or consultant.

 

Except where such ideas are protected by patents, trademarks or copyrights, Porus Group is not liable for any damages whatsoever in connection with the use of the information submitted. Porus Group may receive similar plans from another party or may be working on the same or similar business within its own organization and/or with brand licensee businesses.

 

After you have submitted your information, the review process can take several weeks depending on our work load and number of submissions received. We do not expect you to be proactive in seeking a response. When progressing toward final approval, it is normal to expect several email exchanges and phone calls and there will always be meetings with the Porus Group team prior to any licensing or funding arrangement is struck.

We make every effort to evaluate submissions promptly. However, Porus Group cannot indicate when its evaluation will be complete. Please understand that, because much of our internal work is confidential, we may not be willing to provide detailed information regarding our reasons for rejecting a given submission. Under no circumstances shall Porus Group be obligated to reveal the nature or extent of an evaluation.
